Gabe Kapler: ‘I don’t plan on coming out for the anthem going ahead till I feel higher about the direction of our nation’

Speaking in the dugout of the Nice American Ballpark in Cincinnati, Ohio, Kapler mentioned, "I don't plan on coming out for the anthem going ahead until I feel higher about the course of our country."

"We weren't given bravery, and we aren't free. The police on the scene put a mother in handcuffs as she begged them to go in and save her youngsters. They blocked parents making an attempt to arrange to cost in to cease the shooter, including a father who learned his daughter was murdered whereas he argued with the cops. We aren't free when politicians decide that the lobbyist and gun industries are more vital than our children's freedom to go to high school without needing bulletproof backpacks and active shooter drills," Kapler wrote.

Later, Kapler wrote about his disillusionment with what he called "the dearth of supply of the promise of what our nationwide anthem represents."

"I am not okay with the state of this nation. I want I hadn't let my discomfort compromise my integrity. I wish that I may have demonstrated what I learned from my dad, that while you're dissatisfied with your country, you let it be recognized by means of protest. The home of the courageous ought to encourage this."

Kerr refused to speak about basketball ahead of Sport 4 of the Warriors' series towards the Dallas Mavericks, as an alternative raising his voice as he railed in opposition to gun violence in the wake of Tuesday's capturing.

"Within the last 10 days, we've had aged Black people killed in a supermarket in Buffalo, we've had Asian churchgoers killed in Southern California, now we have now youngsters murdered in school," Kerr informed reporters in the beginning of the press convention.

"When are we going to do something? I'm tired. I am so bored with getting up here and providing condolences to the devastated households which might be out there ... I am uninterested in the moments of silence. Enough."
