A California district attorney declined to file fees Tuesday against former heavyweight boxing champion Mike Tyson after he was recorded on video in a bodily altercation with one other passenger on a JetBlue flight.

San Mateo County District Legal professional Steve Wagstaffe made the choice after having reviewed police studies and movies of the April 20 incident. Each the passenger, who has not been recognized, and Tyson requested that no prices be filed.

"Yesterday afternoon the San Mateo County District Attorney’s Office concluded its overview of the case involving Mike Tyson on the San Francisco Airport on April 20, 2022 and the allegation that he committed a misdemeanor battery in opposition to another passenger on an airplane whereas ready on the terminal prior to departure," Wagstaffe stated in an announcement.

"Our resolution is that we will not file any prices against Mr. Tyson based on the circumstances surrounding the confrontation. These embody the conduct of the sufferer main as much as the incident, the interplay between Mr. Tyson and the sufferer, as well as the requests of each the sufferer and Mr. Tyson that no prices be filed on this case," Wagstaffe said.

The case is now closed.

Cellphone video showed Tyson, 55, showing to try to punch someone who was pushing him away. Representatives for Tyson stated the person was harassing Tyson. The video didn't present what occurred earlier than the altercation.

David Chesnoff, Richard Schonfeld and Martin Sabelli, attorneys for Tyson, responded to the choice to not file prices by thanking Wagstaffe, the San Mateo County sheriff and legislation enforcement companies "for their careful, diligent, and professional work."
