Apple has discontinued the iPod, 20 years after it was launched.
The US tech large mentioned its iconic music player has been replaced by different units, making the iPod redundant.
Greg Joswiak, Apple's senior vice-president of worldwide marketing, stated: "Today, the spirit of iPod lives on.
"We have integrated an unimaginable music expertise throughout all of our merchandise, from the iPhone to the Apple Watch to HomePod mini, and across Mac, iPad, and Apple TV.
"And Apple Music delivers industry-leading sound high quality with assist for spatial audio - there's no higher approach to enjoy, uncover, and experience music."
In October 2001, Steve Jobs debuted the original iPod and it was the primary MP3 player that might maintain 1,000 songs and had a 10-hour battery life.
"With iPod, Apple has invented a whole new class of digital music player that permits you to put your total music collection in your pocket and take heed to it wherever you go," he mentioned at the time.
"With iPod, listening to music won't ever be the same once more."
