Teen arrested after mother seen son had gun at Texas college drop-off

LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD/Grey News) - A number of agencies responded to a middle college in Texas Friday morning after a young person’s mom observed he was carrying a gun.
Police in Lubbock tell KCBD a mother was dropping off her 15-year-old son at O.L. Slaton Middle College round 9 a.m. when she observed the firearm. The teenager by no means made it inside the constructing, and he ran from the school.
The Lubbock Police Division responded to the realm along with several different businesses in an attempt to seek out him.
The teenager was found close to the varsity’s campus and taken into custody.
Authorities said the 15-year-old could possibly be dealing with a felony weapons cost.
Police say there was no threat made to the college or anyone inside the varsity.
O.L. Slaton Middle College was briefly placed on lockout on account of the incident.
