Sherpa woman climbs Everest for tenth time, breaks personal document

KATHMANDU, Nepal -- A Nepali Sherpa broke her own file as essentially the most profitable feminine climber of Mount Everest by reaching the summit of the world's highest peak Thursday.

Lakpa Sherpa and several different climbers took benefit of favorable weather to achieve the 8,849-meter (29,032-foot) summit early in the morning, her brother and expedition organizer Mingma Gelu mentioned. He said she was in good health and was safely descending from the peak.

Sherpa, 48, by no means got a chance to get a proper schooling because she had to start incomes a residing by carrying climbing gear and supplies for trekkers. Thursday's profitable ascent was her 10th — the most instances any girl has climbed Everest — and he or she has always stated she wished to encourage all women so they can also achieve their goals.

A native of Nepal, Sherpa lives within the U.S. with her three children in West Hartford, Connecticut.

One other Nepalese Sherpa guide, Kami Rita, reached the summit for the 26th time Saturday, breaking his personal record for essentially the most climbs of Everest.
