Nine Shot, One Useless in San Bernardino County – NBC Los Angeles

One person was killed and eight others had been injured Friday evening when shots were fired at a big celebration at a strip mall hookah lounge within the San Bernardino County neighborhood of Highland.

The capturing within the metropolis east of San Bernardino was reported simply before midnight within the 3600 block of East Highland Avenue. Officers encountered a big crowd of about 100 people within the space for a party at a hookah lounge.

A shooting victim situated exterior died on the scene. A lady at the scene who identified herself as the victim's grandmother stated he is 20 years previous.

Eight different people had been hospitalized with what seem like non-life-threatening accidents, police stated. The sheriff's division initially said 10 people have been shot, but later updated that number to 9, including the deceased sufferer.

Police are looking for two shooters in reference to the capturing, a source close to the investigation advised NBCLA. The supply said many of the injured victims have been caught in the crossfire and did not appear to be meant targets.

Evidence markers had been positioned at a nearby gasoline station. Crime scene tape blocked off the intersection early Saturday near Tha Blu Flame lounge.

NBCLA has reached out to the business for comment.

The motive for the shooting is underneath investigation, police stated.

No arrests have been reported. Detailed descriptions of the shooters were not instantly obtainable.

Highland is simply east of San Bernardino at the base of the San Bernardino Mountains.
