Speaking within the dugout of the Great American Ballpark in Cincinnati, Ohio, Kapler mentioned, "I don't plan on popping out for the anthem going forward till I feel higher about the direction of our country."

In a blog post, Kapler questioned whether the country's management is dedicated to representing its people's finest interests and whether the USA is actually "the land of the free and the home of the courageous."

"We weren't given bravery, and we aren't free. The police on the scene put a mom in handcuffs as she begged them to go in and save her kids. They blocked parents making an attempt to organize to charge in to stop the shooter, including a father who learned his daughter was murdered while he argued with the cops. We aren't free when politicians resolve that the lobbyist and gun industries are more important than our kids's freedom to go to school without needing bulletproof backpacks and lively shooter drills," Kapler wrote.

Later, Kapler wrote about his disillusionment with what he referred to as "the dearth of supply of the promise of what our nationwide anthem represents."

"I'm not okay with the state of this nation. I want I hadn't let my discomfort compromise my integrity. I wish that I might have demonstrated what I realized from my dad, that once you're dissatisfied together with your country, you let it's known through protest. The house of the courageous ought to encourage this."

Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr made an impassioned plea to take stronger motion against gun violence in the United States.

Kerr refused to discuss basketball ahead of Game 4 of the Warriors' sequence in opposition to the Dallas Mavericks, instead raising his voice as he railed towards gun violence in the wake of Tuesday's taking pictures.

"In the last 10 days, we have had elderly Black people killed in a supermarket in Buffalo, we have had Asian churchgoers killed in Southern California, now now we have kids murdered at school," Kerr informed reporters at first of the press conference.

"When are we going to do something? I'm drained. I am so tired of getting up right here and offering condolences to the devastated households that are on the market ... I'm tired of the moments of silence. Sufficient."
