Speaking within the dugout of the Nice American Ballpark in Cincinnati, Ohio, Kapler stated, "I don't plan on coming out for the anthem going forward till I really feel better in regards to the route of our nation."

In a weblog publish, Kapler questioned whether or not the country's leadership is committed to representing its folks's finest interests and whether the USA is truly "the land of the free and the home of the brave."

"We weren't given bravery, and we aren't free. The police on the scene put a mom in handcuffs as she begged them to go in and save her children. They blocked parents making an attempt to organize to charge in to cease the shooter, including a father who realized his daughter was murdered whereas he argued with the cops. We aren't free when politicians decide that the lobbyist and gun industries are more important than our kids's freedom to go to school while not having bulletproof backpacks and active shooter drills," Kapler wrote.

Later, Kapler wrote about his disillusionment with what he referred to as "the shortage of supply of the promise of what our nationwide anthem represents."

"I'm not okay with the state of this nation. I want I hadn't let my discomfort compromise my integrity. I wish that I could have demonstrated what I discovered from my dad, that while you're dissatisfied along with your nation, you let it's recognized via protest. The house of the brave should encourage this."

Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr made an impassioned plea to take stronger motion towards gun violence in the United States.

Kerr refused to speak about basketball forward of Sport 4 of the Warriors' series in opposition to the Dallas Mavericks, as a substitute raising his voice as he railed against gun violence in the wake of Tuesday's capturing.

"In the final 10 days, we have had aged Black people killed in a grocery store in Buffalo, we have had Asian churchgoers killed in Southern California, now we've got youngsters murdered at college," Kerr instructed reporters in the beginning of the press conference.

"When are we going to do one thing? I am tired. I'm so uninterested in getting up right here and offering condolences to the devastated families which can be out there ... I am uninterested in the moments of silence. Enough."
