A woman visiting Yellowstone National Park was gored by a bison and tossed into the air, park officers stated Tuesday.
The 25-year-old girl, who was visiting from Ohio, was not identified in a news release from the park.
The girl approached the feminine bison Monday morning after it came near a boardwalk at Black Sand Basin, close to Old Trustworthy geyser, the park stated.

An estimated 2,300 to five,500 bison stay at the park, and so they have injured extra folks than any other animal, the park said.
When the customer got here within 10 feet of the animal, the bison impaled her and "tossed" her 10 ft within the air, the park said.
The woman had puncture wounds and different accidents and was taken to a hospital in Idaho, the service stated. Her condition was unknown Tuesday.
Two different folks have been also close to the animal when it gored the woman, the park stated. The release didn’t say if they have been injured.
The park warned individuals to remain 25 yards from bison, elk, bighorn sheep and moose and a minimum of 100 yards from bears and wolves.
CORRECTION (June 1, 2022, 12:07 p.m. ET) A previous version of this article misstated the severity of the girl’s accidents. She was gored by a bison and suffered puncture wounds. She was not killed.
